The US Powerball Lotto jackpot has been rolling over for some time now, just like its fellow US multi-state lottery draw, the Mega Millions Lotto. However, last night the rolling came to an abrupt end for the Mega Millions jackpot, when two lucky ticket holders scooped the massive $190 million rollover jackpot. If you think $190 million is a massive jackpot, the $600 million Powerball jackpot should really get you excited.
The $363 million Powerball Lotto jackpot that was up for grabs on Wednesday night was not won and on Thursday morning Powerball officials were touting a $475 million jackpot for tonight’s draw but since then the jackpot has been revised. This would appear to be for a couple of reasons. Firstly, ticket sales seem to have been brisker than usual for a jackpot of this size plus the annuity payments seem to be greater, further stretching the top prize up to the $600 million level it stands at for tonight’s draw. At $600 million, the current jackpot is the second biggest Powerball Lotto jackpot of all time and the third biggest lottery jackpot in the world ever!
