The Scottish couple Colin and Christine Weir went down in history last year when they netted the biggest ever EuroMillions jackpot, worth a massive £161 million, and now they have their names in lights again as they make the top 1,000 on the Times Rich List.
The lottery winning couple are from Scotland, and became household names when they won the biggest EuroMillions jackpot ever seen, and we’re now likely to hear their names year on year as they are one of the richest couples in the UK.
The Rich List has just been released and there were a few surprises; another famous Scot Duncan Bannatyne has tumbled down the Rich List after his problems with his health spas and his recent divorce, although he is still on the list so he doesn’t have too much to worry about.
The Weirs were not the only lottery winners to make the Rich List. Eight lottery winners in all made the Times Rich List, which goes to show that the big jackpots are making a real difference to the wealth of ordinary people in this country.
We haven’t seen a nine-figure EuroMillions jackpot yet this year, but there have been a few rollovers. Tuesday’s EuroMillions is worth an estimated £12 million.
