LottoIt was a big draw in the UK this evening with a rollover jackpot estimated at around £6.2 million. The draw didn’t quite reach estimate and there was £5.8 million up for grabs, but not long after the Lotto results, news has reached us that the Lotto has rolled again, so it’s a double rollover midweek!

Tonight is rollover night! The UK Lotto jackpot rolled over on Wednesday night, as no players managed to match all six of those lucky lottery balls to win the £2.2 million prize. Therefore, tonight’s draw had a £6.1 million jackpot to play for so ticket sales were brisk, as expected.

The midweek UK Lotto draw is upon us, brightening up hump day and making it a little more tolerable. LottoA shopkeeper who tried to swindle a lottery syndicate out of £80,000 escaped a jail term in the UK today, at what will surely be at the chagrin of the syndicate affected. Imran Pervais was the shopkeeper in charge when Callum Crosier entered the shop with his syndicate tickets to check. Mr Pervais informed the customer that he had won £10 on one ticket and Mr Crosier left the shop.

However, upon arriving home, Mr Crosier checked the numbers against the syndicate sheet and realised they had matched five, not three numbers and were due winnings of £1,000. The gentleman went back to the shop to confront the shopkeeper who asked him to come back later when he had checked the tickets.

LottoScottish independence, or the possibility of it at least is a hot topic in the UK right now, and the issues go much deeper than the layman can possibly imagine. The job of separating two countries is huge, and even the National Lottery and the funding that is provided from it comes as an issue.

An independent Scotland could mean a new currency for the country, but it’s not known how the separation could affect lottery funding and Good Causes. The country benefits millions every year, but would this still happen if Scotland severed its ties completely with the South?
